Year-Round Availability
Our typical wedding season is from May to early October, but we can accommodate weddings year round! Host your wedding in our historic YCC Lodge in the winter, or outside on the lawn and amphitheater. Your guests can stay in our winterized cabins at any time of year. Schedule a Tour
Our staff is available for tours of the grounds and facilities by reservation only between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Evening or weekend tours may be available based on staff availability. To schedule a tour, call 715-543-2085 or email rentals@discoverycenter.net.

Summer (May-early October) Packages
There’s nothing quite like a Northwoods summer—the golden light on Statehouse Lake, the scent of warm pine, and long, laughter-filled evenings that seem to stretch forever. A summer wedding at the Discovery Center feels like stepping into your own private nature retreat, where you and your guests can savor canoe rides, sunset vistas, and starlit celebrations. It’s the season of joy, adventure, and togetherness—and the perfect backdrop for saying “I do.”
Summer Standard Package: $5,000
This packages begins Friday at 4pm and ends Sunday at 12pm and includes the following:
- Historic YCC Lodge and adjacent commercial kitchen
- 135 metal folding chairs, 16 8-foot folding tables, 8 6-foot folding tables
- Outdoor Amphitheater overlooking Statehouse Lake
- 20x40 foot white outdoor tent
- Loon cabin: bridal party area
Summer Extended Standard Package: $6,200
This package includes everything in the Standard Package, with an extra day! Arrive Thursday at 4 pm rather than Friday for more ease with preparations.
Included:
- Historic YCC Lodge and adjacent commercial kitchen
- 135 metal folding chairs, 16 8-foot folding tables, 8 6-foot folding tables
- Outdoor Amphitheater overlooking Statehouse Lake
- 20x40 foot white outdoor tent
- Loon cabin: bridal party area
Summer Anniversary Package: $6,000
This package includes everything in the Standard Package, plus a 3 night stay at Red Pine Point the year after your wedding to celebrate your 1 year anniversary! Red Pine Point is listed on Airbnb, so your anniversary stay should be coordinated with NLDC staff and is based on availability. Reserve early for the dates you want! Return to the location of your special day to relive that magic.

- 135 metal folding chairs, 16 8-foot folding tables, 8 6-foot folding tables
- Outdoor Amphitheater overlooking Statehouse Lake

Summer Camp Package: $8,000
This package includes everything in the Standard Package, and more! Our Summer Camp Package transforms your celebration into a joyful, memory-making weekend on the shores of Statehouse Lake. With more cabins and property access, this package is sure to make your special weekend the way for everyone to explore and enjoy time together all weekend long. Gather your favorite people and start your life together in the heart of nature.
Included:
- Historic YCC Lodge and adjacent commercial kitchen
- 135 metal folding chairs, 16 8-foot folding tables, 8 6-foot folding tables
- Outdoor Amphitheater overlooking Statehouse Lake
- 20x40 foot white outdoor tent
- Loon cabin: bridal party area
- 4 bunkhouse cabins (Beaver, Badger, Canvasback, Redhead): each sleeps 10 people
- On-site use of our canoes/kayaks
- Up to 4 hours of exclusive access to the Nature Center
- An hour-long naturalist program: guided hike or paddle (up to 12 people for the paddle, great option for the bridal party!), or live animals program with our special animal ambassadors!

Off-Season (October-April) Packages
For couples who love quiet magic, winter transforms the Discovery Center into a peaceful, snow-covered wonderland. Frost-dusted pines, crackling fires, and cozy indoor spaces create an atmosphere of romance and intimacy. Whether you envision a serene lakeside photo session or a warm, candlelit celebration surrounded by the stillness of the season, a winter wedding here feels timeless, enchanting, and beautifully unique.
Recent upgrades to our facilities allow for us to host winter events! While we might not have photos of winter weddings yet, your event could be featured here! See our winter packages below.
Off-Season Standard Package: $3,750
This packages begins Friday at 4pm and ends Sunday at 12pm and includes the following:

- Loon cabin: bridal party area

This package includes everything in the Standard Package, plus a 3 night stay at Red Pine Point the year after your wedding to celebrate your 1 year anniversary!
