The better we understand our environment, the more likely we are to accept our shared responsibility to look after it.
The Discovery Center's programs are designed to challenge and educate, no matter how old you are. Learn while having fun! We offer everything from fishing to guest speakers and workshops to local wildlife tours. Find yourself more in tune with yourself and the natural world around us.
During the winter months we offer a variety of programs both onsite and around the North Lakeland area. Here's a peek at what we're brewing for the Winter Program Guide!
Brown Bags: Join our naturalist, Licia Johnson, at one of the local public libraries for a free program on a variety of topics. You bring the lunch (brown bag optional) and we'll bring the program! Held at noon on the first Wednesday of each month.
February 1: Owls at the Manitowish Waters Koller Library
April 4: Frogs and Toads at the Mercer Public Library
Nibbles and Knowledge: A perennial favorite around here. Our staff whip up delicious nibbles and wine to start off the evening, then offer up a program to broaden your knowledge! The second Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:00pm. Stay tuned for speakers and programs!
