Citizen Science

Citizen Science

Take part in scientific research. One of the best ways to learn about something is to study it. By helping us in our Citizen-Based Monitoring programs, not only do you provide valuable data to agencies all around the state but you get to experience the world in new ways, explore new areas of the Northwoods, and even learn about your own backyard.

Citizen Science

We train people of all ages and abilities to conduct scientific research. Some projects can be done in your own backyard, while others require traveling to specific locations.

Some of the projects Citizen Scientists are working on include:

  • Acoustic Bat Monitoring Surveys
  • American Marten Radio-telemetry Tracking
  • Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring and Treatment
  • Bird Call Surveys
  • Lake Level Monitoring
  • Loon Platform Placement and Monitoring
  • Monarch Tagging

For more information on any of the projects, please contact us: 715-543-2085 or contact@discoverycenter.net.
